Arizona Nonprofits: Economic Power, Positive Impact
This report, published in 2016, examines in economic terms the sizable contribution that Arizona’s large and diverse nonprofit sector makes to everyday life and to the prosperity of our state. The findings debunk the perception that nonprofit organizations are a small component of the state economy, instead revealing a thriving and diverse network of social purpose organizations – some 21,000 strong – that are a powerful economic driver.
Beyond the Bottom Line: The Economic and Social Impact of
The true value of a nonprofit’s programs and services are far greater than economic impact alone. Expanding on the March 2016 study, the latest independent research conducted by ASU’s Seidman Research Institute on behalf of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits reinforces the economic importance of the sector while also providing new insights into the social, public, and civic value of nonprofit programs and services impacting such critical issues as workforce development, education, health and welfare, poverty alleviation, and community cohesion statewide.
Implications of the Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on Charitable Giving In Arizona
Arizona's nonprofits could lose approximately $273 million in charitable giving as a result of the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed at the end of 2017. This is equivalent to a 5.2% fall in total estimated giving in the state in 2018. Arizona Volunteerism: Today and in the Future
Throughout 2016, more than 900 Arizonans participated in-person or via electronic survey to provide their thoughts and ideas about volunteerism in Arizona. The Lodestar Center collaborated with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family to research and publish this report, which is being used to create the State Service Plan for Arizona.

Nonprofit Compensation and Benefits Report
This report provides valuable compensation data across 50+ nonprofit job positions, as well as findings on employee retirement, insurance, paid time off, and other benefits. This study, compiled every three years, helps nonprofits to make informed decisions by providing information on salaries and benefits for dozens of position titles, organized by budget size and organization type (arts, education, etc.).
Giving USA: The Annual Report on Philanthropy
This report is the seminal publication reporting on the sources and uses of charitable giving in the United States. For over 60 years, fundraisers, nonprofit leaders, donors and volunteers, scholars, and other individuals who work in or with the charitable sector have counted on Giving USA to provide the most comprehensive charitable giving data available. No other source provides the context for annual giving like Giving USA.
