United Food Bank Names New Board Chair
Roles and Responsibilities Even Greater During Current Pandemic
United Food Bank, which provides food assistance to residents of the East Valley and eastern Arizona, announces its new Board Chair for fiscal 2020/21.
“United Food Bank has seen a dramatic increase in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the end of this economic roller coaster is not yet in sight,” said Dave Richins, president and CEO. “Having a quality board has been an essential resource as our organization has pivoted to meet changing food assistance needs.”
Raveen Arora was named as Chairman of the Board. Arora, an accountant, author, entrepreneur and speaker, has been involved with United Food Bank since 2017 and as a member of the executive team for the last two years. Arora will serve as board chair for one year. He replaces exiting chairperson Mariann Ward.
He is a member of several global professional organizations and associations, and lives with his wife Clara in Tempe. Born and raised in India, Arora credits his experience of humanitarian work with Mother Theresa behind the development of his core values of humility, compassion, empathy, dignity, and respect.
